One package. Here’s what you get.

One offer — a complete set of TLEA-aligned general orders, with your department policy portal included. The portal is part of the package, not a separate product.

Policy packages

Clear, current general orders tailored to your department and aligned with Tennessee Law Enforcement Accreditation standards. We don’t provide you with generic templates. Each general order set is written specifically for your department, taking into account your town charter, town personnel policies, ordinances, and current policies. Policy tailored to reflect your actual work practices.

Online policy portal

Good General Orders are a set of instructions designed to assist officers in performing tasks that they may not encounter frequently. Clear policy ensures that services are delivered consistently with high quality.

Your policies live on a custom website officers can open on their phones or department computers. Links inside the orders take them straight to the relevant case law or Tennessee Code so they can actually read it — something you can’t do with paper. Policies can also be downloaded and printed if they want a hard copy.

The portal also lets officers digitally sign an acknowledgment, confirming they received and read the policies. Additionally, officers are notified when policies change or new ones are added — and reminded when acknowledgments are still outstanding.

Forms and day-to-day usability

The forms your people need, plus clear category tiles so officers find current orders on shift — not buried in shared drives.

Keep the orders — and the portal — current.

Laws and standards change. Annual maintenance keeps both the written package and the portal up to date, so your people work from current orders instead of last year’s binder.

Digital acknowledgments

Officers digitally sign that they received and read the policies. They’re notified on change or new policies — and reminded when acknowledgments are still outstanding.

Illustrative only. No department names, seals, or client files on this site.

Accreditation manager support

Practical support to manage PowerDMS, organize proofs, prepare for review, and make sure your assessment runs smoothly. This is a different engagement from the all-in policy package — talk with Scott if that is your path.

Policy package path

Complete TLEA-aligned general orders with the department policy portal included. Built for agencies that need usable policy without an enterprise software stack.

Accreditation support path

Agencies pursuing TLEA accreditation typically use PowerDMS. That path does not include the TAS policy portal. Soft, separate conversation — not a second homepage product pitch.

How we work

Five clear steps from your current orders to a delivered package and portal.

1

Start with what you have

We review your current orders, town charter, personnel policies, ordinances, and local rules.

2

Write to TLEA and Tennessee law

General orders written specifically for your department — not a generic template with a new cover.

3

You review; we revise

Chief and command get a real look before anything is final.

4

Portal and package delivery

We stand up your department policy portal and deliver the complete package — portal included, not an upsell.

5

Optional annual maintenance

Keep the package and portal current as laws and standards change.

Peer, not a vendor

Experienced, plain-language guidance from someone who understands the work inside a department. Scott Slavin spent about 27 years in law enforcement, including Professional Standards command at Coconut Creek Police Department (Florida). He now supports Tennessee agencies from East Tennessee.

Common questions

Is the portal separate?

No. It is included in the complete package — a benefit of the all-in offer, not a separate product.

Do we need PowerDMS for this package?

No. This path is for departments that need usable policy delivered simply, without that platform.

Do we have to pursue accreditation?

No. You can take the package for usable policy whether or not you are working toward TLEA accreditation.

What if we’re pursuing TLEA accreditation?

That’s a different engagement. Agencies on that path typically use PowerDMS, and it does not include the TAS policy portal. Talk with Scott if that is your situation — practical support is available to manage PowerDMS, organize proofs, and prepare for review.

Does TAS award TLEA accreditation?

No. Assessors do. TAS builds policy packages and supports agencies; accreditation decisions belong to the assessors.

Where do our files live?

On your department portal — not this public marketing site. Your policies stay private to your agency.

How much does it cost?

Talk with Scott. We keep the offer simple: one complete package, with annual maintenance available to keep it current.

Ready to talk about a package for your department?

One offer. Package plus portal. Built for Tennessee agencies — peer guidance, not a vendor pitch.
